Medsol Histopathology & Specialty Laboratory (HSL) is a dedicated Anatomical Pathology service supporting hospitals, surgeons, oncologists, and clinicians with accurate, timely, and clinically actionable pathology reporting. Our services are structured to support diagnostic confidence, therapeutic decision-making, and continuity of patient care.

Histopathology (Surgical Pathology)

We provide comprehensive evaluation of small and large surgical specimens, including:

• Skin biopsies and excisions
• Thyroid Biopsies
• Gastrointestinal biopsies and resections
• Breast biopsies, lumpectomies, and mastectomy specimens
• Prostate and testicular biopsies
• Cysts and soft tissue lesions
• Bowel segments and organ resections for tumor evaluation
• Gynecological specimens (uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes)
• Tumor specimens from all organ systems

All specimens undergo standardized grossing, processing, sectioning, staining, and reporting, following defined quality and documentation protocols.

On Site-Frozen Section Services

On request Medsol HSL supports hospitals with intra-operative frozen section services, enabling:

• Rapid diagnosis during surgery
• Margin assessment and tissue adequacy confirmation
• Immediate clinical decision support

Frozen section reporting is performed by experienced histopathologists with strict correlation to final paraffin sections.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) & Special Stains

• Comprehensive Immunohistochemistry (IHC) panels for tumor typing, prognostication, and therapeutic guidance
• Malignancies further confirmed using automated Ventana IHC platforms (Roche) for consistency and reproducibility
• Full range of special histochemical stains supporting complex diagnostic work-ups

Through gold-standard histopathology and IHC, we support end-to-end cancer diagnostics, from initial tissue diagnosis to confirmatory and predictive marker analysis.

Cytopathology Services

Gynecological Cytology

• Conventional Pap Smears
• Liquid-Based Cytology (LBC) using SurePath

Non-Gynecological Cytology

Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) from all anatomical sites
